Three Sisters Yoga advanced training and mentoring program is a comprehensive 300 hour advanced training designed to help you become a more focused and successful teacher. We will take you to “the next level” of your teaching in both competency and confidence, enhance your critical thinking skills and reaffirm your commitment to making the world a more beautiful place.
Self-motivated students who want a personalized program, who are interested in making a positive impact in the world, who can do independent research, and enjoy working both independently and with their peers will enjoy the this program.
Spread out over eight months, the advanced training gives you time to practice and process the material. It includes asana, teaching hours, reading and responding to the reading, one-on-one conferences with your mentors, a research project and presentation, a seva (selfless service) project and a chance to teach in our 200 hour program.
Jen Whinnen & Nick Demos
Individually, Jen and Nick have trained hundreds of teachers. Together they are a great balance for what you need in a mentor. Nick will guide you through creative creative sequencing, pranayama, energetic cueing
and alignment, personal vibrancy and intuitive creativity. Jen will guide you through advanced asana teaching techniques, seeing and understanding bodies, movement and stability, advanced yoga philosophy and teaching to the student you are given with care and compassion. Combined we will give you a well rounded perspective on the “hard and soft”, the stira and suka, of teaching yoga.
- Class modules & mentor meetings: 168 hours. (See below for more information regarding class hours.)
- Practicum & Teaching: 16 hours guided practicum meetings, including teaching a full length class.
- Observing & Assisting: Observe and assist at least 75 hours in our 200 hour teacher training program.
- On-line Journals and One-on-One conferences: 15 hours. Journaling and engaging in one-on-one telephone conferences with Jen and Nick.
- Research: Research an aspect of Yoga and present your work.
- Karma Yoga Project: Research, implement and present a seva (selfless service) project.
