Perfect!

On Perfection

December 02, 2025

From the Perfect
Comes the Perfect
The Universe is Perfect
And You are that which Is

The way you show up in the world is perfect because you are an expression of the Perfect. The Universe is already a Perfect expression of Itself. A perfect Universe can only express itself perfectly. So you, just as you are, are already an expression of that which Is.

Yoga is not meant to “fix” you. It is meant to reveal You. Your wobbly knees, your tight hamstrings, your anxious mind, are not “wrong.”  It is all an expression of what Is. Yoga, if it is useful, helps you see and appreciate the beautiful, amazing meat sack you are. Because you are a miracle among miracles.

Om Purnamadah purnamidam
purnaat purnamudachyate
Purnasya purnamaadaaya
Purnamevaavasishyate

That is perfect, this is perfect.
From perfect, prefect emerges.
Taking perfect from perfect, perfect remains.

There is Always Light
December 2, 2025
self-love, holidays, self care, letters from jen

As we head into this season, please remember this one immutable fact; you are of God, The Universe, Love, whatever you want to call it. It is you. If the world is an expression of God, then you are also an expression of God. And you are not a mistake.

In Defense of Discomfort

What is wrong with being uncomfortable?

Maybe it’s because The Good is often depicted as a life of ease and comfort. We tend to conflate difficult or uncomfortable things as negative, and therefore something to avoid. But difficult things aren’t good or bad, they just are. How we feel about difficulty gives it the quality of “good” or “bad.” If I enjoy the work, the challenge can be gratifying, enjoyable. If I don’t, then it won’t.

Is doing Nothing still doing Something?
August 14, 2025

This pic popped up on my “memories” and after, going 🥹 I remembered how at that moment I felt very synced up, very connected to this little person.

Years later, when Jack and I were having another high vibes moment I asked him, “What do you think buddy, do you think we’ll always be friends?” He said, “I don’t know mom. I mean, years from now I will have a totally different brain. I don’t know if my brain will want to be friends with your brain.”

On Embracing the Here and Now

Teaching, gratitude, attitude of gratitude, self-love, self-discovery

The quest for self-discovery still feels endless. My navel-gazing is neck-breaking. My internal interrogations make it impossible to relax. I am working on letting go of my resentments, my impatience, my perfectionism. I am learning to be gentler with myself instead of spiraling into negative self-talk and silent lectures about never doing enough, never being enough.

How Yoga Taught Me to Respect My Body

Unlike that first experience at 27, nowadays, at 41, each time I roll out my mat I focus not on how I’d like my body to change but on how my body is. Sometimes my lower back asks me to skip upward facing dog and I respect that. Sometimes my body craves going upside down and I respect that too. I am constantly humbled by the poses I want to do but cannot. More often, though, I take pride in my newfound ability to overcome the “shoulds” and just let things be.

A Heartfelt Thank-You

This is a letter of gratitude and admiration for every single member of the Three Sisters Yoga community. I feel so warmly embraced and so deeply valued whenever I arrive at our cozy studio. My evolving roles within this space over the past few years have given my life richness and meaning. As a student, an asana teacher, a YTT teacher, and the voice behind much of TSY’s social media and marketing content, this community has helped me grow into a version of myself I’m truly proud to be.

Guru culture is an undeniably central and historically important element of the yogic tradition. In our postmodern yoga world, however, it is a practice that has created fertile ground for grooming and abuse.
