It's OK to Be Injured

Hey! Guess what?

Your body is meant to take a hit.

If it wasn’t, most of us would be dead before we turned 3! Our bodies make scabs, produce armies of white blood cells to fight off infections, have bones that mend.

Swelling & bruising are not messages of failure. They are reminders that the body has mechanisms to heal itself; that it was designed to cope with with the inevitable.

So rejoice! Your body takes a licking and keeps on ticking! It does the work of living in the world - Go Team Body!

Do not try to achieve perfect health, bodily perfection (whatever that means) or performative/perfected asana.

They don't exist and it will make you feel bad.

Just practice.

And when you get hurt (which you will), be grateful you are in a system that is designed to get hurt.

More importantly: when you get hurt (which you will), be good, and kind, and patient with yourself. Because you are worth all the grace and all the care so be careful with you!

love you!
